ALBtelecom – EAGLE Mobile Merger

Tashko Pustina – attorneys advised Albanian’s largest fix telecommunication operator ALBtelecom sh.a. (“ALBtelecom”) on its recently announced Merger with its fully owned subsidiary EAGLE Mobile sh.a. (“Eagle Mobile”). Partner, Flonia Tashko – Borici led the legal team in the transaction, which was announced in February 2013. The Merger will aim at offering better services to customers through one sole structure for mobile and fixed services. The two companies have created a long-term strategy which focuses on the total enhancement of infrastructure and the provision of better quality services. Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile will offer all kinds of services to the customers from one shop. Albtelecom, currently has a modern network of about 1,500 kilometres of fibre optic, compared to 500 kilometres it used to have before its privatization. At present, the company has 150,000 xDSL customers and plans to reach 300,000 subscribers by the end of this year.
