Amnesty on tax and custom obligations

The Albanian Government through the Minister of Finance has announced today [14 June 2016] that it is working on a draft law on the amnesty of any tax and custom obligations, including penalties and payable interests for businesses for the years 2008-2011, for as long as at least 70% of the principle obligations are paid by any registered business. Such move by the Albanian Government will have an impact of 400 million Euros, which represents 3% of the national product. In total the debt of registered businesses to the Government is thought to be over 800 million Euros.
